The joint project consists of several activities in Indonesia and Taiwan. Most of the activities were done in 2019. In 2019, both parties held an international workshop and joint summer program.

International workshop conducted in Taitung, Taiwan. The workshop entitled “Cultural Heritage, Community Empowerment and Sustainable Management of the Austronesian Peoples”. This event invited several students from Universitas Tanjungpura, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, and National Taitung University. During the workshop, the participants visited an indigenous community in Taitung.
Universitas Tanjungpura also held International Joint Summer Program entitled “Dayaks: Engaging Youth for Sustainable Indigenous Community”. The program was held by UNTAN with the collaboration with Universitas Muhammadiyah Pontianak and Universitas Panca Bhakti. NTTU was invited to send their students as participants and lecturer as guest speaker.
As 2021, both parties are conducting an international online filmmaking workshop. This event also invited several students from three universities in Malaysia (UNIMAS), Taiwan (NTTU), and Indonesia (UNTAN). The participants divided into several groups consist of different nationalities. The output of this program is several documentary films and will be shown on a virtual event to present their works.
