Universitas Tanjungpura together with consortium members namely Universitas Muhammadiyah Pontianak and Universitas Panca Bhakti submitted a proposal for Institutional Strengthening Grants for International Affairs Office (HIBAH-PK-KUI) in 2019 with the proposed activities of the Joint Summer Program entitled “Dayaks: Engaging Youth for Sustainable Indigenous Community”.
Held on 29 July – 9 August 2019, this activity was carried out two activities namely in-bound at Universitas Tanjungpura, Universitas Muhammadiyah Pontianak, and Universitas Panca Bhakti with giving lectures by competent instructors from the three tertiary institutions and overseas partners. Out-bound activity in the form of scientific excursion was carried out directly in the original settlement Dayak tribe, Kampung Sahamp, Landak Regency, West Kalimantan and facilitated interaction with the community in the settlement location.
Participants in the Joint-Summer Program were from various universities, consortium members and partners: National Taitung University, National Chi Nan University, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, and University College of Technology Malaysia. From the planned 35 participants, this year’s activity was attended by a total of 27 participants with 15 students from consortium members (Universitas Tanjungpura, Universitas Muhammadiyah Pontianak, and Universitas Panca Bhakti) and 12 participants from foreign universities.
All participants from abroad received accommodation from Universitas Tanjungpura, while during the excursion activities, participants, facilitators, and organizing committee (OC) stayed in Rumah Panjang in Kampung Sahamp and lodgings around the location. During the program, participants were provided with food from breakfast to dinner; and also transportation.
