Universitas Tanjungpura Assigns Task-force to Address Covid-19 Pandemic

Since the city of Pontianak and West Kalimantan Province have been declared as red zone in the light of Covid-19, Universitas Tanjungpura began to apply policies for e-learning and work-from-home policies until further notice. This means all teaching-learning process, including exams, and campus administration will employ online systems.

Universitas Tanjungpura delegates a Task-force for the responsibility of all necessary action to counter the Covid-19 spread at the university. To help the Task-force, the Faculty of Engineering set up disinfection chambers to be placed at the Untan Hospital and Rectorate Building. The Task-force claims that the disinfectant solution is skin-friendly. In addition, the Task-force sprayed various areas in its vicinity with disinfectant: Jalan Imam Bonjol, Conference halls, Library buildings, Rectorate building, and Faculties buildings. Even more, the Task-force is currently preparing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for medical personnel at Universitas Tanjungpura Hospital whom recognized as leading heroes in the fight against Covid-19.

The Task-force chairman, dr. Rangga Putra Nugraha THT-KL, M.Sc., stated that the Task-force has conducted coordinative actions in preparing the equipment supplies needed to handle the Covid-19. “We have received fund, but the problem is the rocketing price of materials to make disinfectant and hand sanitizer. We have informed the Rector of Universitas Tanjungpura regarding the situation” (26/3/2020). To date, Universitas Tanjungpura is still focused on handling the Covid-19 pandemic issue. (RA)
