Two professors from Université de Poitiers, France, Prof. Gerard Mauco and Christine Mauco, visited Universitas Tanjungpura. Prof. Gerard Mauco is a Professor Emeritus in medical biochemistry at Université de Poitiers; he was former Vice Rector at Université de Poitiers. During the courtesy visit, the two professors from Université de Poitiers were warmly welcomed by the Rector of Universitas Tanjungpura, Prof. Dr. Garuda Wiko, S.H., M.Si., FCArb. (21/10/2019).
Prof. Gerard Mauco was the initiator of a good partnership between Universitas Tanjungpura and Université de Poitiers. The agenda scheduled for the visit are to deliver several lectures and conduct meetings to entertain collaborative possibilities.
Prof. Mauco, who is talented in playing a clarinet, gave a guest lecture in the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and Faculty of Medicines, Universitas Tanjungpura. At Faculty of Medicine, he delivered a guest lecture entitled “Beware of sugar, The obesity pandemics, nutrition facts and microbiomes”. While at the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, he introduced the profile of the Université de Poitiers and its mathematics laboratory. Meanwhile, Madame Christine Mauco delivered a coaching clinic on string section at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education.
In addition to delivering lectures, Professor Mauco visited Universitas Tanjungpura Educational Hospital and met with the director, Dr. Rangga Putra Nugraha THT-KL MSc. The two parties discussed any possibility of collaborative research between the Université de Poitiers Hospital and Universitas Tanjungpura Hospital. Another meeting held was with Head of Master Degree in Chemistry, Dr. Ari Widyantoro. Collaboration that can be carried out between the two parties was discussed there.
