Universitas Tanjungpura has an MOU with Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, Poland. With this MOU, various collaborative activities were designed, including a lecturer exchange program between the Faculty of Economics and Business of Untan and the NCU’s Faculty of Economics and Management Science. In January 2019, the FEB of Untan received Malgorzata Szczepaniak, Ph.D from NCU to deliver Developmental Economics lectures at FEB Untan Pontianak.

In the winter semester 2019/2020, the FEB of Untan sent Nurul Bariyah, SE, MSi, Ph.D to take part in the program and to deliver Macroeconomics lectures at NCU Torun Poland through the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching KA 107 scheme with funding sources from the European Union. The most memorable thing was the conducive academic atmosphere on the beautiful NCU campus at the end of autumn. In addition, lecture activities are very interactive where students expressly express their opinions and respond to the issues being discussed.

In addition to delivering lecture material and tutorials to international postgraduate students, the activity that was followed by the FEB of Untan delegates was the “Woman in Business” seminar which discussed the challenges faced by women in various parts of the world to reach the peak of their careers in their jobs, as well as one-on-one meetings with the Dean of Faculty of Economics and Management Science, Prof. Jerzy Boehlke. From the various forms of collaboration offered, the Dean emphasized the NCU’s desire to carry out collaborative research with the FEB of Untan, as a demand for NCU to achieve a research university in 2020.

Then, there was a meeting with the International Affairs Office at the university level at NCU represented by the Erasmus + Coordinator, Martha Blaszczyk. On this occasion the sponsorship of activities in 2019 was conveyed as well as information on the availability of staff exchange grants in 2020. This certainly opened up opportunities for FEB Untan to return to send lecturer exchange delegates to Poland. Full support for the continued collaboration was also given by the Deputy Dean for International Relations, Dr. Aranka Ignasiak-Szulc and Chair of NCU’s Faculty of Economics and Management Science International Affairs Office, Milena Miszewska.
