The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Berlin has officially announced the opening of the Erasmus+ International Mobility Program for the year 2026. This program presents a strategic opportunity for higher education institutions in Indonesia, as well as for students, academic staff, and administrative personnel, to participate in international mobility schemes through higher education cooperation.
Erasmus+ is a program that supports international mobility in the fields of higher education, training, and human resource capacity development. Through this program, Indonesian higher education institutions can establish academic cooperation with international partners to enhance the quality of learning, research, and institutional internationalization.
In 2026, the scheme offered is International (Credit) Mobility, which includes:
- Student mobility for study or internship activities abroad for a duration of 2 to 12 months, with academic credit recognition by the home institution.
- Staff mobility for academic and administrative staff for teaching and/or training activities with a duration of 5 days to 2 months.
The program aims to improve participants’ academic and professional competencies, strengthen foreign language skills, and broaden international perspectives and experiences. For higher education institutions, Erasmus+ supports institutional capacity building and the development of global cooperation networks.
The proposal submission period has been open since 12 November 2025 and will close on 19 February 2026. Proposals must be submitted by partner higher education institutions abroad through their respective National Agencies. Therefore, Indonesian higher education institutions are required to establish cooperation and formal agreements (Inter-Institutional Agreements) with overseas partner institutions.
In its implementation, Erasmus+ provides financial support in the form of living allowances, travel costs, and additional funding for participants with special needs. All participant selection processes at the institutional level must be conducted in a fair, transparent, and well-documented manner.
Indonesian higher education institutions are also required to possess a Participant Identification Code (PIC) as the official institutional identity for managing Erasmus+ programs. PIC registration and management are conducted online through the official European Union portal.
