In 2016 University College of Technology Sarawak (UCTS) Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datuk Dr Khairuddin bin Ab. Hamid, visited Universitas Tanjungpura. Meeting during the visit, the representatives of Universitas Tanjungpura and UCTS agreed on several cooperation activities in the academic and research programs that will be implemented between the two universities. Before implementing the cooperation agenda, the two universities agreed to formalize the agreement on a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA).
The process of drafting MoA has been done by the International Affairs Office of Universitas Tanjungpura with intensive communication with the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Tanjungpura. In addition, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Universitas Tanjungpura and University College of Technology of Sarawak was being drafted as well. The MoU will serve as the basis of considerations that would be agreed in the cooperation process later. Based on this agreement, the signing of the MoU and MoA was conducted at the University College of Technology Sarawak on July 18, 2019.

The signing of the MoU and MoA between UCTS and Universitas Tanjungpura was conducted at Auditorium University College of Technology Sarawak. The signing of the MoU was represented by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Untan and Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datuk Dr Khairuddin bin Ab. Hamid, UCTS. The signing of the MoA was conducted separately by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Vice-Chancellor of UCTS. The signing of the MoU and MoA was witnessed by the Director of the International Affairs Office and followed with exchanging of souvenirs from both parties. (RA)
