UCD Post-Doc Research Fellow Level 1 University College Dublin

OVERVIEW
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position on an EU FACCE ERA-Gas/Era-Net project called GHG Manage (Managing and Reporting of Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Carbon Sequestration in Different Landscape Mosaics) led by Professor Bruce Osborne, UCD School of Biology/UCD Earth Institute and involving partners from Germany, France, Poland and the Netherlands. The project aims to assess the GHG characteristics and carbon sequestration potential of typical European farmed landscapes using both archived data and new experimental results and to integrate this information into process-orientated whole farm models.

The successful candidate will require experience in the evaluation and utilization of activity data associated with GHG emissions and carbon sequestration in farmed landscapes and the establishment of relevant databases/data repositories. Experience in the use and application of whole farm models to assess the impacts of land use differences and management practices on GHG emissions will also be required and the appointee will also have a responsibility for timely project reporting.
