DEPARTMENT OF ARCHITECTURE UNIVERSITAS NEGERI MAKASSAR AND UNIVERSITAS TANJUNGPURA JOINTLY PRESENT AN INTERNATIONAL WEBINAR SERIES

A traditional house introduces to the observer the elegance of the building itself as a beautiful mass. If we observe more closely, the enormous structures, intricate carvings, and beautiful ornaments emphasize the existence of past people’s works and show the riches of local cultures. Traditional Houses were designed and built by the locals to meet their specific needs, accommodating the values, economies, and lifestyles of the culture among them. The traditional house is starting to be abandoned by the people. Many scholars found the research on the traditional architecture in Asia that a wealth of knowledge about the very unitary building process is influenced by belief, tradition, and culture. So, the architecture of traditional houses in the Southeast and East Asia is interesting to discuss further.
