Description:
The Physics Education Study Program is one of the leading study programs at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of the Universitas Tanjungpura (FKIP UNTAN). The Physics Education study program is expected to become an information center within UNTAN (Universitas Tanjungpura) and other universities in West Kalimantan, starting to operate in 2003 through the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education Number: 178 / D / T / 2003. Based on the Decree of the National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (BAN-PT) Number 428 / SK / BAN-PT / Akred / S / III / 2019, Physics Education Study Program is accredited with a “B” rating. This Study Program has many graduates with the final project in the form of thesis and articles obtained from research. The research umbrella in the Physics Education study program is “Misconception and Remediation”. It is one of the research umbrellas in Indonesia. Through this research umbrella, it is expected to have a major influence in efforts to improve the quality of education in West Kalimantan or even in Indonesia. For this purpose, a curriculum is prepared that can support its achievement through a variety of general, educational, scientific, and supporting subjects as well as theoretical and practical elective courses. The courses in science emphasize the concepts of physics that master theory, misconception and remediation. Lectures in the Physics Education Study Program have a weight of 148 credits, which can be completed in eight (8) semesters, or faster.
