Founded in 2014, D-3 Library program responds to the rapid potential and the amount of information produced and disseminated in the community so that it needs to be managed and organized professionally so that it is easy to find at the right time and in full by the people who need it and the need of professional librarian in various types of libraries in West Kalimantan. D-3 Library program currently holds “C” accreditation from the National Accreditation Board and the only librarian education center in West Kalimantan running a Diploma program. D-3 Library program offers a Diploma of Library program under the study of information science. D-3 Library program is a three-year program, divided into 6 semesters and requires 115 credits to pass. The core education system is practice in a library laboratory which trains students independently to explore and present information technology-based library collection management methods under the supervisor of experienced full-time lecturers. Practice in the laboratory is held every semester. This practice model is a simulation and project-based of competencies that are expected in the real working environment. There are topics such as the basics of information organization, cataloging, classification, information and digital literacy, library automation, library spatial planning, library information system design, cultural information management, and networking, which will strengthen the competence of professional library management. One of the library management offered is the management of indigenous knowledge. Practical on management of indigenous knowledge will enrich the students with the real advantage of managing libraries for their future project. After completing the program, students may pursue a Bachelor of Library program.
