Description:
Established since 28 September 1965, the Indonesian Language Department of Faculty of Teachers Training and Education, Universitas Tanjungpura has been accredited B and is the oldest department in West Kalimantan that graduates Indonesian language teachers. This department requires seven to eight semesters with 145 credits to pass. All subjects are delivered in theory and practice (targeted internship) employing online application-based synchronous and asynchronous methods to ensure high-quality, integrity, and broad-vision students. In the last semesters, students are to take teaching practice (pre-service teaching) at the partner schools for 4-6 months to provide first-hand experience to teach in a class. The graduates of this department are competent to be: a) Educator (1) for teaching Indonesian Language at High Schools or Vocational levels; (2) for teaching Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers (BIPA); b) Researcher (1) on Indonesian language education, linguistics, literature, computational linguistics, editing, and c) Expert (1) on Language; and (2) Language Instructor.
