The Guidance and Counseling Study Program was founded in 2011 as a form of concern of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Universitas Tanjungpura (FKIP UNTAN) Pontianak for problems that often arise in school environment and outside school. The Guidance and Counseling Study Program currently has “B” accreditation from the National Accreditation Agency. The curriculum which is based on the Indonesian Qualification Framework (KKNI) has a weight of 144 credits which students will be able to complete in eight semesters. The curriculum is designed and structured to accommodate the balance between developing conceptual and practical competencies needed at work and elements of local content that are appropriate to the needs of the user community. The Study Program will continue to evaluate and improve the existing curriculum to be more compact and compatible with the employment needs and development of the user community. The learning process in class and practicum uses various instructional media (computer, LCD, VCD, and ICT). The Study Program also develops a conducive academic atmosphere to encourage students to be more active in intracuricular and extracurricular activities which are supported by adequate facilities and infrastructure. Students are also encouraged to be involved in various community service activities held by both the Study Program and FKIP UNTAN which are coordinated by the Community Service Institution at the University level. The evaluation system includes the evaluation of processes and products. Process evaluation is carried out in lectures, practicum, research and thesis writing. Product evaluation is carried out through various strategies
