Description:
The Economic Education Study Program is one of programs offered by Teacher Training Faculty, Universitas Tanjungpura that has been established since July 11, 1996. This study program is accredited “B” and is one of the oldest study programs in West Kalimantan Province graduating economics teachers. The training course will prepare individuals to be qualified in the following competencies— (1) teaching skills for secondary school students (Junior High School (SMP) and Senior High School (SMA) or Secondary Vocational School (SMK)), (2) research skills in relation to the economics of education and economics inquiries and (3) entrepreneurship. This is a 4-year study program (8 semesters); however, this program can be completed in a shorter time, 3.5 years (7 semesters), as long as the students complete 144 credits as required. The modules are taught by using the approaches of theory and practice. At the end of the program, the students are required to have teaching practice at partner schools for 4 to 6 months. This teaching practice is to provide teaching experience exposure for students as prospective teachers. The lectures are carried out with synchronous and asynchronous-based e-learning applications, which prioritize learning that shapes students’ characters to behave economically and rationally and upholds economic morality.
