Description:

Founded in 2003, Department of Architecture answers the potential growth in “physical” development in West Kalimantan and the need for local human resources to support it. Department of Architecture currently holds “B” accreditation from the National Accreditation Board and the only architectural education center in West Kalimantan running a Bachelor program.

Department of Architecture offers a Bachelor of Architecture program. Bachelor of Architecture is a four-year program, divided into 8 semesters and requires 144 credits to pass. The core education system is Studio based which trains students independently to explore and presents their design methodologies and practice under the supervisor of experienced full-time lecturers. The studio-based courses are held every semester. This course model is a simulation of competencies that are expected in the real working environment. There are topics such as theory and historical, building technology, city and settlement, which will strengthen the competence of architectural design. One of the practical designs offered is the tropical based architecture. Practical on local architecture will enrich the students with the real advantage of design for their future project. After completing the program, students may pursue Architect professional program or master’s degree.
